The drive to Valdez yesterday was the most beautiful stretch of road thus far. Steven and I were talking last night and we were saying that when we pictured what we thought the best drive in Alaska could look like this is what we pictured. Gorgeous!!! Enormous glaciers in the mountains, a low cloud level, 2 steaming snow capped volcanoes... We loved it! We spent 6 hours in the car and it was like being at an incredible IMAX movie that you never want to end. We stopped for a bit to hike up to another glacier and had photos taken standing on top of the glacier. Sadie was with us as well.
Today we spent the day exploring the town of Valdez, the museums and the harbor. We will be here tomorrow for the 4th of July celebration. It will be an interesting experience seeing the fireworks in daylight!!!!!
